Faemom brought on this “Hey! That reminds me…” post!
Not long ago, the boys were playing in their playroom. I was working downstairs in the kitchen. Suddenly, it got very, very quiet. Fully expecting to catch them in the act of a dastardly deed, I tiptoed up the stairs. As I rounded the corner I witnessed a peculiar scene.
The entire playroom was perfectly neat. (very peculiar) Every toy was in it’s proper place. (very, very peculiar) Except for the stuffed animals. Every animal was sitting side by side in a long row that wrapped around the room.
“What’s going on?” I asked, innocently.
#1son shook his head sadly and said, “It’s been a very, very bad day.”
It was everything in me not to crack up.
But just as seriously I replied, “I’m right there with ya!'”
And with that #2son sidled up to me and patted my shoulder knowingly.
Yes, they know all about the very bad day.
Now you know they are capable of being very tidy – I don’t know that is a good thing for anyone. 😉
Isn’t it funny that with boys, when they are quiet, the first thing we think is: OK. What’s going on?!
LOL.
Awww, I’m glad he had his stuffed animal support group to lend an ear.
It’s the little things like this that make kids so darn adorable…and ensure the species lives on. 🙂 BTW: I love the Southern Snowman!
Oh, that is the cutest thing I’ve heard today. Maybe all week…
“Fully expecting to catch them in the act of a dastardly deed, I tiptoed up the stairs.”
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve tip-toed up the stairs for the same reason…
The stuffed animals surrounding the room? Priceless! Ahhh this made me smile.
Ha. Whenever I watch my nephews and it goes quiet, the first thing that pops in my head is, “It’s too quiet. What are they doing?” You’re boys are so cute!
LOL Great stuff. (OK, now I sound like a spammer.) Don’t you wonder what goes through those little minds?
Priceless…Isn’t it great, don’t you remember those “friends” that lent an ear but never judged.
Love it. Hannah often puts her toys on the naughty step or in time out and sadly looks at me shaking her head at her misbehaving children when i question what is going on.
For some reason, it’s cuter with boys though!
It seems like it was a very very GOOD day…

I love that they have to line up for time out. Some day, when they’re parents, our kids will know it’s much more appropriate to cram the stuffed animals in the closet and lock it for a truly satisfying time out.
