Funny. If it helps you out … I would go with the nice round 10 gallons …
With gas prices so high and oddly priced, there is no way you are going to hit $40 exactly. Even if you try … it amounts to one drop. Then, it goofs up the nice 10 gallons.
The other option for you is to only to buy gas when there is a nice even amount charged for each gallon like $4.00.
