Listen, I’m glad the man has faith. Wearing it on your sleeve, or your face as the case may be? More than I do, but everyone has a right to shout out what they believe.
But seriously people?
Don’t you think God has more important things to do than help a man and his team win a football game?

It always made me laugh when Madonna used to pray about her concert before she went on stage. Somehow I feel God has bigger issues to worry about than whether Madonna sang “Like A Virgin” well.

Good for him! …and personally speaking..I would like to think that God is never too busy to hear our prayers no matter how insignificant they may be. Whether they get answered is another story.
I am so with you on this one. Just in case you haven’t seen it, Jimmy Fallon did a hilarious song with “Tebowie.” I’m sure a quick search will find it for you. I loved it!
I think whatever gives someone strength and encouragement to do their very best is great. If what Tebow is praying for before the game is strength to do his best and safety for the players, more power to him. I don’t think God cares who wins and I think he gave man the ability to make those kind of determinations – kind of like “don’t sweat the small stuff” being his theme. I do have a hard time with blatant displays of any kind, however.

Just to reiterate: I’m glad the man has his faith. I don’t mind that he advertises it. I just can’t believe that so many people believe that God helps one team beat another team BECAUSE of prayer. It’s football, people. Not a cure for cancer.

Amen! If God meddles in the everyday occurrences of man, I am pretty sure he would be fed up by now (not that I believe in God as a “man,” but I am sure you get the idea). I believe God gave him talent and I think he works hard. That’s about it.
Next time I put a blog post out I’m going to pray that I’m freshly pressed 🙂
Don’t think God cares about which team wins…but He might be pleased more people are paying attention to the concept of Him. Or not. Hard to say, could all be publicity for all I know. I’m always uncomfortable around people that wear their faith so blatantly…but whatever works for them.
Dude, didn’t you know the reason God isn’t curing cancer or poverty or ending wars is that he’s wrapped up in sports, entertainment, and helping kids pass tests they didn’t study for?
